Meet the new Executive Director: Donna Anderson

Donna Anderson arrived on January 2, 2015 to begin working with the McLaughlin Garden & Homestead as Executive Director.  She spent nearly 24 years in Upstate New York, working with a wide variety of museums, historic sites, libraries and science centers through The Exhibition Alliance, a nonprofit museum service organization. Since 2007 she was also the coordinator of the Yager Museum of Art & Culture, an academic museum at Hartwick College.  She brings experience in management, interpretation, research, and exhibitions to South Paris and will usher the McLaughlin Garden & Homestead through new strategic and master planning processes.

Anderson holds a Master’s Degree in Museum Studies from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor’s Degree in history and art history from Douglass College, Rutgers University.

She is “delighted and honored to join the McLaughlin Foundation team and to help the organization continue its strong commitment to preservation and conservation in a beautiful environment in the Oxford Hills.  In the very near future we will be starting an audience assessment project that will allow me to meet our local and regional community and talk about ways in which the Garden & Homestead can connect with our audience. We thank the Maine Community Foundation for support of this exercise, and I look forward to meetings during which we will have the chance to get to know one another as we work together to shape the future of the McLaughlin site.”
