The subtitle of the Spring 2015 Coastal Home Magazine article by Therese Ciesinski entitled “The Open Gate” calls McLaughlin Garden & Homestead the state’s loveliest secret and offers an excellent overview of the history of the garden. It also offers tips from director of horticulture, Kristin Perry, for growing a number of species found here. The article also shows the beauty of the Garden through many, many beautiful photos.

Families and small informal groups taking photographs for personal use may use the garden for photography free of charge for non-commercial use, as may members and volunteers. These images must be for personal use and not taken by a professional/commercial photographer.
Those seeking to photograph in the garden for commercial use should read our full policy or contact a Garden staff member before arriving.
